Finally finished one! Here is my take on Andy's (aka hulkfan) Batman Bronze.

I'll take better shots later, but I finished this one a little while ago, and at the rate I get things done it will soon be 2007... 8)

Thanks Keith! I think people are so surprised to see a build up from me that they think they are hallucinating...

I was inspired by Ron's (19Ratman66) AFM article a few issues back. After priming flat black, I used some bronzing products I found at Michaels Arts & Crafts store. They were called "Sophisticated Finishes" by Triangle Crafts; a bit pricey, but I used the weekly Michaels 40% coupons to accumulate the ones I wanted.

I used the dark bronze first, followed by the patina solution. I really overdid the patina and had to wash most of it off (a little goes a long way). Then I did highlights with the light bronze and then washed with the antique black solution. Once dry, I dry brushed a few more highlights, then silver for the eyes and sealed with Testors gloss, and then knocked down some of the shine with Testors matte.

It was quite easy all in all, and I'm tempted to do a few more in this fashion. Thanks for looking!

I think it is the best bronze rendition I ever seen, even better than the real bronze.

Just as a suggestion, it would be really nice to put him on a very simple (squared) basement painted as white marble, to ensure the maximun contrast, outstanding even more the bronze finish.

Thank you all for the nice comments. Hopefully I'll have something else to show before the end of the year. For those of you keeping count, that would be the second sign of the apocolypse...

Calvin, great idea for the base. I've always wanted to try painting marble as well; didn't you do that recently? I know I saw someone paint marble on the boards recently.
