The "Beast Within", paints by Phil Sera!

#1 Post by lunchmin »

hey all-

well, working for the man has left me with little time to get anything personal finished.
this sculpt was actually finished for last wonderfest, but always with a million things to do and no time to do 'em, i'm late to the party.

at any rate, i was lucky enough to have Phil Sera (Fengshuistein, to some) paint this for me.
as per usual, he went above and beyond and totally did way more that i thought possible.
when i first saw it, i got all misty.

looking at ti again, it's got me hankering to get back some kits that need finishing.
GK's were my first love and will always be where the heart lay.

here' a link to some more pics if yer so inclined to look: http://www.toiletface.com/ModelKits.html

i hope you all can dig the 'ole girl. it was equal parts a challenge and a blast to work on!

That is an awesome paint job. The mottling, veining, and color choices are all top notch!

Gabe - what have you been smoking to come up with this idea.. OFF the hook brother.
Kinda creeps me out, then I guess it has done the job.. Bro.. the kit world needs you back. Soon..
Miss the Mad Man Sculptor from Upstate in Resin.

Phil - Love it,, simply love it brother.. Man the skin tones with the mottling and veining totally works well on this.

Gentlemen well done from Sculpt - Casting - to Painting....

Hats off.. =D> =D>

lol, tom!

yessir, i miss kits, too!
hopefully the new year will grace me with some more time. i have so many unfinished projects... whatta dang shame!

...and i'm glad that at least a few people were disturbed by it!
i figured this would just shed a little light on where some of the world's beasties might come from.
every "thing" was a baby once, right!?

so, thanks to all who dropped in to take a peek.
i'm still so jazzed at the paint job phil gave the 'ole girl... i get the willies and a big grin every time i look at it!

What an awsome concept. Love the originality and the execution.
Kudos to sculptor and painter.
