Psycho Santa - WIP

#1 Post by tay666 »

Picked up this cute little guy at WF this year.

Been having some fun with it.

Almost have the bulk of the painting done, and soon I should be able to start detailing it.
Then I just have to decide how much blood I want to have splattered on it.

Yeah definitely different! Great colors on him so far.....you know you can run some Woodland Scenics foam putty to get those pin holes. Comes in a sizeable tub that will last a while.

I thought about trying to fill those pin-holes, but decided against it. (I have Aves epoxy-paste that I normally use for stuff like that)
This one is just meant to be a fun little build. Not sweating things too much with it.

That, and the size of the kit actually make it hard to even see most of the holes in person.
They show up glaringly in photos, but in person, not so much.

Took some more pics last night (thought I haven't done anything with them yet)
Base coating is done. Now it's time to start detail painting.
I hope to wrap this one up quick, as I gave myself an unofficial deadline of Halloween to complete it when I started on it.

Since that pic, I've gone over the elf face with a paler shade of flesh with just a touch of lavender added. He is dead after all, and the blood is pretty much drained from his face.

Next up, some pastel work.
Some blues for the elf, and some reds for santa, since he should be kind of flushed from his activities.

Ok. Final update to this thread.

A couple shots of the pieces after doing some pastel work.

Then here is a look at it after the final touches of paint. And glued back together.
