Well, I still have no real number for how many kits I have. But, hopefully I will know by the end of the year.
I am working on designing the shelves for my eventual display of all of these.
As such, I am really going to need to plan out exactly what I want it to look like, and figuring out if I have it all. I found more of my kits in the closet upstairs, but still think I have a bit more to find.

If I ever clear my current project off the workbench, I want to pull out all the graveyard scenes bases and get them all primed and painted at once, so they can go on their shelf.

I might have a chance, if I would quit buying them.

Seriously though, I hope to do a complete kit inventory this summer. With an eye toward thinning things out a bit.
I already started piling up some kits I want to get rid of. Mainly because my interests have changed and I no longer feel the urge to even consider putting them on the bench. But others are because I have too many. :o
Don't get me wrong, I am super glad I snagged up as many of the Monster Scenes kits when I did for as cheap as I did. But now that I am actually building them, I am finding some extras that I won't need. Which is a good place to be. Much better than not having enough.
The biggest thing is I plan on building a shelf to hold (hopefully) all my extra Prehistoric Scenes kits so I check that against my inventory.

OCD aside, it looks like a nice problem to have. You seem to enjoy it anyhow.

If you decide to thin out "Robot Monster', let me know? :) I seemed to have developed a hankering for B-grade beasties. Or are they C-grade?

Sorry, Robot Monster won't be moving on as I will be building it.

Well, in a few years it might be. My plan at the moment is once I get all my Monster Scenes / MOTM / Graveyard Scenes / Drive-in Scenes all built, painted and displayed together. Enjoy it for a few months and take a ton of pics, then sell it all off.

:bshock:
Sounds crazy, I know. But once it's all done I see no reason to hold on to all of it after that.
I just want to see my dream complete. I don't need to keep it.

Sounds like a smart plan. Basically that is what I did with almost all of my 2002-2016 models ... since then I've kept them ... and they are starting to slowly collect ....

Enjoy that Robot Monster. :)

I wish I had a plan. Truth is I'm 72 with a dodgy heart and a wife has no idea what to do with my collection, built and unbuilt should I pass. Since "a reminder", I've been focused on getting as many done as I can and to enjoy the finished products while I can. Perhaps though, like you Trev I should be progressively moving them on.

That is my thinking as well.
I am not getting any younger, and it would be better if I move them on, than leaving it for someone else to do.
Though my daughter says, when I die, she is just going to get a table at WF and sell off everything that doesn't go to her or my son.

Giving those models away, or better yet, asking your kids to choose which ones they want, and then giving it to them as a present while we're still here, sounds like a much better plan to me.. 😁

I plan to at least offer my large kit bashed dinosaur dioramas, which I'm in no way shape or form anywhere close to finishing yet, to a place like the Witte museum here in San Antonio. The hope would be that they would think them worthy to display for people's enjoyment. πŸ€—

They're some really nice ideas, though I'm not sure any of my 4 would be interested. Maybe the grandkids...I've got a new one, born this morning. P'raps I'll start with her birthing gift: "Hey Molly, here's this horrible, grotesque monster I'd like you have." :)
