Hmmmm. Maybe it was the Dead Boys "reunion" show at the Ritz in 1981. All the original guys, a drugged up Johnny Thunders/Cheetah Chrome opening set, and a Joey Ramone intro. Oh yeah, and the band sounded great. Sonic reducer never sounded better.

Yeah I saw a lot of bands there. I saw a PIL show that ended in a riot. Mainly because PIL didn't really play. Or sort of did.

Whitesnake headlining Donington in the UK 1983 - not a bad band on the bill.

August 20, 1983
  • Whitesnake
    Meat Loaf
    ZZ Top
    Twisted Sister
    Dio
    Diamond Head
Coverdale breaking down in emotion as the crowd drowned him out was a sight and experience I will NEVER forget ......

(* but there are many MANY other "close 2nd's" as well  *)

I have seen Kiss so many times and will again this Sept 3rd. They remain the best shows I have ever seen. Period!

One that stands out was I think the Phsyco Circus tour. They had Ted Nugent (I love Ted!) as the opener. If there was an ethnic group or Politician he didn't insult, I must have missed it somehow! I don't know what happened but sometime a short while later ol Uncle Ted was not the opener anymore :2guns:

Social Distortion, November 1 2010. Incredible. They do songs from their beginnings as a punk band, to the present day. New album in January 2011.

Hey thanks bro....nice to see some artists other Heavy Rock Metal here....love Los Straitjackets...play cool Munsters and Batman themes..
Best show I ever saw...was Freddie King (bluesman) tear down the house here in Austin in 1974.....then Stevie ray Vaughan play with Albert King at Antones somewhere around 1976(SRV stole all his licks)
....Commander Cody at the Armadillo...CD release...
