Apologies for the delay on getting this one finished, work, family, life etc!

Anyway, she's done (for now). I fell on my own sword a few times with this build, stupid mistakes
and inexcusably BAD modelling, I guess it goes like that sometimes! :?

A few lessons learned and pitfalls to avoid next time, a few pics to finish the thread and more in
the museum.

All the best,
Paul

That looks great! That sheer dress alone knocks it out of the park. What kind of issues did you have?

Very nicely done! If you had some issues, they're not apparent to me. Good model!

Thanks everyone for the great feedback!
A few have asked what am I complaining about regarding the build, essentially it was lots
of stupid little things that kept tripping me up, most of which I created for myself.
In order of disaster then:

1 - To start with, despite a good scrubbing in hot water and detergent, the primer and paint didn't stick too well.
I had paint lifting off back to the resin when I glued or puttied things!

I wet sanded the rough spots, her skin appeared as smooth as glass. I primed her, all looking good.
First skin tones go on and suddenly, fine, cracks, lumps and bumps appear from nowhere around her shoulders and forehead!!

2 - I use oils for the skin tones, at this scale the detail is too fine to airbrush and the oils can be smoothed right out to achieved
some lovely blends.

That went well initially, the main downside is the slow drying time, so I moved onto the base.

After 3 weeks the oils were rock solid (so I thought). I couldn't be bothered to rig the airbrush up to apply a matt varnish for such a small area,
so did it by brush. Disaster - the varnish lifted the oils!! So, more patch work and repairs.

3 - The arms are white metal and so a little bit heavier than resin. The hands are moulded onto the grave stones, so a little
bit of juggling required to glue the arms at the shoulder and get the grave stones at the right angle. Test fitting to work out
the angles, I dropped the arms and badly scratched the gown  Yup, you've guessed it, more repairs!

So a lot of doing everything twice or more is what knocked the pleasure of the build sideways. Modelling is usually a lot of fun,
I do it to relax, but I gradually lost the meaning of the word with Brinke here!

When all is said and done, now the dust has settled she looks great in my display cabinet and is a wonderful part of garage kit history.
Next kit though, no more silly mistakes please....!!!

All the best,
Paul
