A classic - the Horizon Frankenstein, reborn!

#1 Post by Tim Casey »

I actually pulled this out of the closet and restored it, along with a dusty, unused JL Crinon base and a nameplate from an unknown producer:

This went from a piece of clutter that was always in the way to a thing of beauty! It was fun!

Enjoy - and go build a model! It's better than doomscrolling!

I love the way you did the eyes, Tim.
Straight out of the movie!
Always fun to see one of these older kits get a new lease on life =D>

The face and hands were done thirty years ago! I can't believe I did such a good job! :D

I went on to do a so-so job on kits for another ten years or so, and then I got really good.... 8)

You brought him back to life! Looks fantastic and the base and nameplate really work. =D>

The images don't come up when I view this thread, so I went to your website (one of my favorites BTW). I chuckled at your comment at how insane $100 was for a kit in the 90's. I passed on a lot of kits for that reason and always ended up regretting it.

I bought the deluxe Janus Dracula and Bride kit when it first came out - I think for around $600. My wife was excited, but I began to seriously doubt her judgement in picking a husband. It's one of the favorite kits in my collection.

Then I saw one recently that went for thousands. Yikes!
