" Right" Brett from Alien

#1 Post by grymm-one »

Just finished this amazing bust of Harry Dean Stanton as Brett. About 9ins highwith base. Packed with details, and a ace Jonsey. I added the whiskers on him and a loop to the coat sleeve. Sculpted by the very talented Sean Kyle.
Painted in acrylics and pastels.

Now that is cool. Love the extras added to it.

    • 1) Who sells this?
      2) Is Sean likely to do any more from the movie?

Great job on this!!!

I have this kit as well... Very good likeness.
I'm thinking of painting it as a "bronze"
since the sculpt is so detailed.
Nice size as well at 1/3 scale...
It is sold on Etsy by OutcastUnion.

Jeez, that looks like him! Reminds me of "Repo Man" and "Twin Peaks 3" as well.

Great job!

Awesome likeness and design, love the composition with the tail wrapping round poor Brett!
The way the cat supports the weight of the bust is so well conceived.

Alien (1979) has to be my all time favourite Sci Fi art fest, so this one is a must have for me,
so I'll be ordering one ASAP!

Cheers,
Paul

Thanks Matt - I was thinking the same.

Direct link is here  https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1403628 ... e_active_2

Sean lists himself as "Sean Kyle" on the shop, but Clubhouse records show him as "Sean Kyle Burford" and "Sean Burford" - he is a member here too ("SeanKyle", but his member name was "boondog" prior to that) http://theclubhouse1.net/phpBB3/memberl ... ile&u=9252 (he hasn't visited or posted in years).

9½ inches tall! . . . and since I currently (amazingly!) don't have a single human character from that movie (prepaint, action figure, garage kit), I am VERY tempted (comes in at $204.86 CAD + $40.12 CAD s/h to me in Canada) :-k

Thanks Spike. This was done using the splatter technique using rec, blue, yellow, green.sealed between coats.I watched this used to great effect on " just paint it " on YouTube. A great channel to learn new skills.
This was the second attempt as I got all the way to the end, sprayed a rattle can of flat coat on and it went white AAARRRRGGGHHH! .
Sean Hope's to do other characters from the franchise

He quotes Kathy and thanks Spike? . . . I just want to say that mixing me up with ANYONE is likely going to put them in therapy for the rest of their lives! :)

Good to hear that Sean is considering doing others from the franchise.
