Apparently, Hammer's execs and producer were not sure how to best make use of Universal's permission to use the Boris Karloff makeup as a basis for this creature, so Roy did the best he could based on his given directions and without directly copying Pierce's design.

My next plans are to do tributes for lost friends. For John Tucky, I'm going to do the Frankenstein Must be Destroyed figure (Love this kit!), for Brian Hamilton, I've had his first draft of the Herbert Lom Phantom of the Opera bust awaiting paint and lastly for Vin Bordogna the Vampire Lovers figure that he and I collaborated on.
