Gillman Productions Alien Tribute bust

#1 Post by gmaiocco »

This is a two-piece resin kit in 1:5 scale distributed by Gillman Productions. The Alien figure was sculpted by Jeff Yagher, the base by Mark Van Tine. There was a little seam work on the Alien head and a lot of air holes to fill, done with a mix of Testors Contour Putty and lacquer thinner brushed on the base, lightly sanded after drying. A wood base was added for stability and handling. Overall, this was a very fun and fairly quick build. Using the description of the Roswell alien I chose to paint him (her?, it?) as a gray alien and the base as a representation of the New Mexico desert, using photos of New Mexico my son took when he went to Philmont Boy Scout Camp.

Glad you like it. This is a fun little kit that fits anywhere on a shelf. I also like the gray aliens; I've seen this one done in green but the facial structure on this one begs to be done in gray, with various shadings. Again, it's produced by Gillman Productions and doesn't put a dent in your wallet like some of the bigger kits will.
