King Kong Triumphant!

This is a five-piece resin kit manufactured and distributed by Polar Lights/Round 2 in 1:72 scale. It is approximately 6”wide, 9”tall and 10”long and is a 1 of 500 Limited Edition kit. There was very little seam clean up, with the exception of where Kong’s arms attach to the torso and the torso attaches to the feet. A rubber texture mold was made of Kong’s back fur to use with Aves Apoxie Sculpt to blend in these attachment points. One other attachment was the T-Rex arm to its body. The only addition to the kit was a wood display base that was stained with Minwax Rosewood acrylic stain. Other than some seam work, which is normal for this kind of kit, this was an enjoyable build, especially the painting. The nameplate came from my local jewelry store.
