I just finished this kit, based on an episode of "Doctor Who". It's approx. 1:48 scale based on the size of the Doctor Who figure. It's a very well done kit with a lot of room for imagination. The wood base encases 48 battery powered LED lights to illuminate the lava pit and a Starlight Productions Yellow Phantom Floodlight is used to highlight the demon's face. Metal jewelry chain replaced the plastic kit chains. The base is an 8"x10" craft plaque trimmed with 1/4" plywood 2" deep to encase the wiring. Crushed dolomite (used in saltwater aquariums) and coarse model railroad ballast were used on the base floor to compliment the kit's lava rock resin base. The background is a dark gray ceramic tile glued to an 8"x8" craft plaque and trimmed with 1/4" plywood. Krylon Light Stone texture paint was used on all the plywood trim. The only problem I encountered with this kit was the lack of upper teeth and lip area on the torso casting; I had to sculpt this area with Aves which enabled me to lengthen the top teeth for a more menacing look. Overall, it's a very easy and enjoyable build.
There's a 30 second video on Facebook, on the Horror, Sci-Fi and Fantasy group area that shows the lava pit and figure lighting. Thanks for all the comments, it's always good to get feedback on your work.
