Stripping concern: interaction of acetone and Aves Apoxie?
Just wondering if anyone has had experience using acetone to strip paint off of cured Aves. I need to strip a vinyl piece that has many large areas of Aves-work under the paint. I am not so worried about the acetone hurting the Aves, but am a bit concerned about it possibly weakening the bond of the Aves with the vinyl. Obviously, I won’t be soaking the pieces or anything- just steadily working at it by hand with an acetone-fortified rag. Any input would be welcome… thank you!

It very well may weaken that bond. I'm pretty sure the acetone will cause the vinyl to swell a bit, and then shrink back down, possibly even slightly smaller than what it was originally.
In the action figure customizing hobby - the GI-Joe sort - they'll mix and match heads onto different figures, and will use acetone to "shrink" a head down to a slightly smaller scale by soaking it in acetone. It swells up, then eventually shrinks back down smaller than it was. I can only assume a vinyl kit will do the same.
Like you said, using it in small quantities (rag, or small scraggly brush) may help avoid that.

Ugh... well, thank you, Phil... I had a suspicion that might be the case. I will just go really slowly and carefully, then, and hope everything holds!

Is Easy Off a safer alternative?

I would never use acetone. Soak it in this stuff instead:
