Tony W's 2014 Wonderfest Show Report

#1 Post by AntMan »

Hello,

I've finally completed my report on this year's 2014 Wonderfest Show report.

(And just in time, to get the modeling juices flowing and modeling enthusiasm hyped for the quickly approaching Jersey Fest Fair).

You can view all 37 W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L Wonderfest Show Report pages, (along with just under 1,000 pictures) by going here:
http://www.scififantmodmadrealm.com/Won ... 014-1.html

Happy Reading!
Keep the glue and paint flowing, take care and stay blessed!

Man.
I really want to click on that link.
But I have to rush off in a minute, and if I do, I know I am going to get sucked in and be late to my destination.

Will have to make some time to give it a proper look this weekend.

Thanks Greenfield and Scooke123,

I appreciate the kind words.

I agree, the show was a really good one.

(Trev, maybe it's a good thing ya didn't. I know the report took eons to complete, and I'm betting that between reading all of the text I wrote, along with viewing all of the pictures, it's going to take a while to complete).

Thanks so much for the time & care spent taking pictures, organising everything, and then building the webpages for us all to read.

A monumental task that I hope many others show their appreciation for.

Wonderful work.

Thanks again (once doesn't seem enough!) - Ian/Spike.

Ian,

Thanks, Man!

You compliment is really Greatly Appreciated!

Somehow, these show reports I've been generating have become "virtual" modeling activities for me, (which unfortunately have taken time away from my ACTUAL model building and painting).

Thankfully, since the report is done, I can sneak some time in on my model building, (until I'm back to writing another show report - This one on the Jersey Fest Fair, (which starts tomorrow). -

I know what you mean.
But the sacrifice in bench time is worth it.
Both for the enjoyment of others, as well as memories for yourself.
I know every time I browse my past show photo pages I remember cool things that happened.

Yep, I agree!

One of the things I still tend to do is go back over my reports, click on some of the models and zoom in on some details that I either missed when I was viewing them in person at the show, or appreciate more said details because I may have rushed things a bit when I was originally taking pictures of them.

There really were an over-abundance of finely crafted and detailed miniature modeling masterpieces at the Wonderfest Show this year.

Hey Guys,

Thanks MUCH!

(Your kind words are greatly appreciated!)

Jayco, will do, mann! (The Titania should - hopefully - give me a good boot in the butt, to get my She-hulk complete once again....She was actually completely assembled and primed, only to have my prime coat go awry, and cause me to take a couple steps backward in her assembly).

Thanks, Tim.

I don't know, though about that.

I admit that it's cheaper, but "almost as good"???

(Nawwww! I really don't think so).

As much as I tend to toot my own horn, there really is no way to completely, accurately capture the "modeling magic" which takes place at this show.

There's soooooo much going on, pretty much non-stop from Friday morning, through Sunday evening, that it's really impossible to simulate actually being at this event.

If they could extend the show by another day or two, I think that many (or most) would have no problem staying for the additional days.

If you've never attended, I'd HIGHLY recommend you make the "Trek" to this show, to check it out for yourself.

The closest I have ever seen was the first Ledbelly video.
The others are great. But the first one is the best.
It's a bit more raw, and rough around the edges, but I think that is why it captures the feel of the show better.

Hey Trev,

"Ledbelly video"?

What's that? (A video of a prior Wonderfest Show?)

If so, what show was it taken at, who took it, and is it still available???

Ledbelly - aka Three Kings Resin (now)
They shot videos at WF in 2005-2008.
Still have them for sale on their table at WF.
And they are still available through AFM as well.

My review of the disc (circa 2009)

And looks like their website is still up and running, with a much better price on the DVDs.
