Joe, you can maybe use some air drying sculpey for the finer details on the Body or so. There are so much really good sculpting compounds out there, I have tried lots of them. Due to the fact that I sculpt mostly in small scale (means 54mm or 75mm, I have done one Alien in 1:6 for now but thats all in bigger scales) I have to use sculpey which is, hm, more than older chewing gum (without the stickyness) to hold all that ultrafine detail.

I love all that Alien Stuff and I go crazy when I read something here about my favorite figures, hehe, so your dogbuster fits nicely in. But I guess that you are a sculpter who does not stick 100 % to a given designl and feel free to improve and add own ideas to a figure to make it more interesting. That´s fine, too!

Main head shape baked and sanded the dome some.
Will now start on the lower jaw and side details.
Pics for reference and size comparison to the original head.

A real cool design change, looks more "realistic" and all in all more possible.

What sculpey did you use for the jaws and muscles?

Ever tried Magic Sculpt? I do everything with this because it holds details very well. Anyway, the Dogbuster looks even more cool and I am curious what you will add next!

You do a really good sculpting job here and the Dogbuster looks now far better than before, so...! My special problem when sculpting Aliens I do not know when to stop adding details, mostly on the head. You know: One more cable, one more spring, heck, I can add even MORE... Due to the fact that I combine Moviedesign with my own ideas on that I sometimes go crazy. Good to see that you don´t do that!

Lol...I was wondering to myself if my idea for this Dogburster head is too developed or adult-like for a "newborn" Xeno. Maybe I am adding too much detail? But then I look at the Alien Chestburster which has quite a bit of details. Plus the Dogburster in Alien 3 was more developed when newborn than the original Chestburster, having full legs and such.
I figure since animals mature and develop much more rapid than humans, maybe this little Xeno must of picked up that trait from its dog host.

Agree totally! And that one can adopt the so called "Kindchen Schema" (means all Babies and newborn animals are cute because of their size and forms) on an Alien... I believe that would be more than creepy (Look at that hookie pookie dudle die due Alien. Nasty little creep I would prefer  !).

So I guess there can´t be enough details on the head and body form of this thing! Sometimes I think of sculpting a Deacon from PROMETHEUS would be really cool and the pics I found are creepy enough, but I guess it would not look like a Deacon when I am finished. More than an Alien of cause 8) !

Wow! Your mods to this kit are fantastic! I am looking at my kit and thinking of redoing everything thanks to your inspiring work. Is there any way you would consider casting the head? It's an amazing piece of work and would bring new life to my previously feeble attempts.
In space, no one can hear you scream.
