TOMBS OF THE BLIND DEAD

#1 Post by Paquet »

In the early to mid 1970's a great visionary named Amando de Ossorio directed a series of creepy atmospheric horror films centered around legends of the Knights Templar. The Templars haunted and slaughtered their prey many centuries after their own demise, during which their eyes were burned out with torches so that they could not see to locate prey in their future haunts on earth.

The Templars, like any smart being, learned to locate quarry by sound alone, so if you find yourself somewhere near the Spanish coastal regions, be sure you don't make too much noise, or the BLIND DEAD will come for you too!

Second in the SHEER TERROR collection, and among my favorite undead of all time. Check the Garage and/or New Kit sections for info http://theclubhouse1.net/phpBB3/viewtop ... 7&t=101896

Thanks for looking.

BTW, since this is the painted section- all hand-painted with acrylics. Lots and lots of washes building up layers of musty colors. A little bit of dry-brushing, but almost all washes. Lots of fun.

William, you absolutely work some of the nicest most inspiring paint work I've ever seen. And this sculpture is texturally orgasmic.

Bill-

Outstanding job on this very creepy knight! Your sculpt and paint up perfectly captures the moldy splendor of the original makeup.

Thanks for all the nice comments fellas. Again you can always tell when an artist is obsessed with his subject. I love these films and had a blast creating this.

Great job, as usual, Will. The Templars are, even if you are not a fan of the films, iconic!

Guys, just concluded a grueling week at the "quarry", and awaiting my arrival home was an errant knight. . . blind, of course!

I am quite literally at a loss for words, so. . . :hot: :hot: :hot: (if you prefer the canon of the El Ataque de los Muertos Sin Ojos). . . otherwise, :drool2:  :jam: =D> :thumb2:

This is simply amazing! Kudos--and THANKS!!!--to William and the gang at Quarantine for the speedy and, per usual, exemplary service.

Let the fun times begin!

In the climax of the series, then end scenes of NIGHT OF THE SEAGULLS, the Templars finally cease to torment and as they collapse into heaps of dusty rattling bones, rivers of blood run from their empty eye sockets, inspiring this paint variant.
