Excellent job Trev... I'm really liking the color scheme you went with on this and the wings turned out great! Glad to see
you got it done for the contest and that you won an award for it as well.
Nicely done....

Re: WIP - MS Giant Insect
Thanks Mark.
Once I got past the prep stage, the paint on this was fun.
Don't get to use gaudy colors like this very often. And was good to get some practice with irridescents for when I need to use them on future projects.
With that in mind, I'm going to try and step back from doing so much prep on these kits.
I've got way too many of them to spend all that time erasing all signs of the seams.
They may not turn out to be award winners, but at least they will be done.

I think your base helped push it over the top Rick.

Nice work on this. Got to see it in person at WF and liked what I saw. "Q"

Re: MS Giant Insect - Finished
Thanks.
I think one of the hardest things about it, was figuring out exactly how I wanted to display it.
I'll illustrate some of the options when I finally get around to doing the finished shots of the kit.
But with the movable legs, you can having it standing flat.
With it's rear hunched down and the head up, like it's going to attack.
Or with the rear up, and the head down like it's being cornered.
I opted for head up, so some of the detail underneath could be seen.

Re: MS Giant Insect - Finished
Well, it took me a little longer than hoped, but the finished pics are now up.

About halfway down the page, you can see what I was talking about with the posing options.

Re: MS Giant Insect - Finished
Thanks.
I had lots of fun with it.
I've even kicked around the idea of picking up another one to do in another color scheme.
Though that would be a ways off.
