Scott you might want to think about some sort of insulation over that corrugated metal ceiling. You'll be ok now but wait untill it starts to cool down in the winter and it'll condensate and you'll be sitting in a shower of drips mate.
As someone who's workshop is a 5ft by 4ft shed welcome to the club mate,
When winter hits and it's pitch black and bloody cold it's a real challenge to treck off down the garden to work on a kit.

That's an awesome looking studio. Excellent job!! I'm still fumbling with my attic remodel.
Wish I had some shelfs like Jesse showed. Thats a nice studio space! I need to finish painting my walls black, the strip was a test to see if I liked it or not. Its a fairly good size.. Think its a 14x16? it was my main bedroom at one time. But were I am standing taking the photos is the doorway to my bedroom, which was the old studio space. Its a 10x8. Sorry for the crappy pieced together photos.
thank you! I got tired of hanging up black sheets and washing them after they got dirty from clay flinging around. Plus the sheets were usually a light black color so I'd have to still use photoshop to black out the wall. This helped reduce the time on the photos taken, plus helps stay focused on the clay, easier on the eyes.
One thing I would recommend for any art workspace is to either have natural light from a window or daylight balanced light. I use daylight color temperature halogen lights but as was mentioned they get really hot. In my case I don't mind the heat as it may be slightly chilly in by basement in the winter and I have air conditioning for the summer.
I don't have a white room but the walls in art colleges are usually painted white because colored walls may affect how you perceive the color you are using. Black would probably work as well.
I love looking at what others have done with studios, especially with set-ups for the larger sculpts, airbrushing and painting. My present studio spaces are dedicated to drawing, oil painting and fiber crafts, so they are not suited to large scale sculpting. I usually set up a temporary table if I have to reconstruct a skull, but a more permanent space is my goal. Would more of you be so kind to post pictures of your work spaces? I get so many good ideas by looking at others' studios.
How do you guys light your model room's?
without natural light
As i do a lot of my painting through the night as that is when
i get most of my peace and quiet.
But when i airbrush all i can see on the kit is a shadow of my hand.

Thanks for the advice scott , but my property is rented and my Landlord
would not approve me putting strip light's in the spare bedroom.
Can you not buy light bulbs that produce a natural light effect?
i am having to move in about a month and a half (unfortunately), and from what ive seen, if i had the spare $, theres a couple of you guys that id like to hire to set up my new workspace for me.
very impressive guys!

Cool work spaces. I gotta say that IKEA is a great place for really inexpensive tables. I've made one using those thick table tops boards for $6 each. I just use 4 of them to make a nice table that is much more sturdy than with those metal legs. Anyhow...
