FalcignoArt: Howard's Nightmare

#1 Post by Creature Core7 »

This one I finished hours before I left for Wonderfest last week. It's Mike Falcigno's brand new piece, and it's really, really cool.

Fabulous job, Jason! The pics are great, but it's way nastier in person. I knew you would
knock it out of the park. Sorry I missed meeting you @ WF!

Just beautiful work (in a really horrific way) :D

The sculpt was awsome and freaky as it was but this takes it to an all new level.
This is seriously giving me the wiggins.
Awsome, awsome work.

Thank you all very much. I guess from looking at it so much, I don't get the whole super-scary idea. I mean I've had some people comment that it makes them wanna' puke! But, I'm a bit desensitized to these macabre things, and this piece is indeed a macabre one.

This one was for Mike, so I'll have another one to paint for myself, and I'm ready to do it again. It's a wild piece that's really fun to detail.

Jason my friend...you know how much I love this (heck- at least 100 people at WF must have heard me praising it from across the room  ).

I have to say that I actually sculpted this kit with some friends in mind who enjoy life-size creature stuff. (guys like: Jason, Riojas, Sera, Lawrence, Dunaway, Cantu etc. etc.)

I figured if no customers wanted one, at least I had a few LoveCraft pals that love painting who would! :D

As it turns out, I'm so glad that a bunch of customers at the show really dug this enough to take him home! Even more responded favorably and seemed to like the design enough to snap pictures...and that's very cool to!

In the end, I believe it's largely Jason's paintup that really sells this piece! I mean...how creepy are those color choices??!!!!

It's an honor to have his paintwork on any of my sculpts, especially this one.

Man, this thing is totally disgusting and repulsive... and I mean that in a good way!

Totally killer, both the sculpt and paintup.

As a side note, when I first saw this sculpt, I didn't know what to make of it. I thought it was cool but really didn't understand it. However, this paintup brought out all the details and tied everything together really well. As soon as a I saw it now, everything clicked into place.
