Make some soapy water- mix a few drops of soap like Dawn or similar with a cup or so of water. Put some on the surface and apply the sticker. You can move the sticker into place ans squeegee it down and let dry.

Liquitex modeling paste or putty in a tube from Vallejo, Tamiya, etc. I have also used gel CA glue
