Re: Really Cool Video! Old Styrene Kits...

Love how he takes a 2 second look at the parts and then says "It's all there." LOL

Hope that he didn't pay too much for those kits - a lot of them are re-issues. Nice paint jobs though...

Re: Paint Stripping, Remind Me....

Its coming back now. When I was recollecting the Prehistoric Scenes 20 years ago EZ off was the way to go. Time consuming but eventually it worked but left a pigment stain with certain colors. Castrol and Purple power worked great on acrylics. So.... Scale Coat. Where can I get this? My math yields...

Re: Aurora Monster Scenes Questions

Thanks for posting this. Although I pride myself in having a fairly good knowledge of Aurora long boxes, my knowledge of Monster Scenes is woefully deficient. I did not know that Monster Scenes were issued overseas. This is the first one that I've ever "Scene". The MS story seems to go tha...

Re: Paint Stripping, Remind Me....

I've stripped some of the rarest and sought after Auroras using a product called Scalecoat. It's made specifically for stripping paint from hobby plastic. With this product, you can let the parts soak without fear that the plastic will be damaged. I wouldn't use something that's not made specificall...

Re: Aurora Monster Scenes Questions

I am very rusty on my MS history at the moment, and I don't feel like running upstairs to get the MS book. I can't remember, were there Canadian versions of The Victim, before the name change? If so, that would explain it. They already had existing instructions and didn't change them. That was my i...

Re: Aurora Monster Scenes Questions

I had thought about that reason but quickly dismissed it. The Canadian MS instructions are completely different from the US versions. So no matter what the kit was called in Canada, new instructions would have had to have been printed. What ever name was on the instructions, it wouldn't have mattere...

Aurora Monster Scenes Questions

I have an original "Dr. Deadly's Daughter" instruction sheet, but interestingly, it's entitled "The Victim". There's no mention of "Dr. Deadly's Daughter" anywhere on it. 1. Has anyone seen an instruction sheet entitled "Dr. Deadly's Daughter" or were they all...

I don't think that the consignor is worried about 10 years from now

Almost every lot has at least one bid on it so the market still seems to be there...

Re: 1964 Aurora Superman restoration

Great job. Nothing that I love better than a great restoration. On a related note, If anyone has managed to successfully mix, or could suggest a mix with Vallejo paints for a comic book Superman blue; Batman blue; and/or Batman grey would they kindly advise please? These colours have been eluding me...

Aurora Model Warehouse Find

In a recently ended eBay auction, the seller of a sealed Canadian Aurora Frog kit referenced that the kit had come from a 1987 warehouse find of sealed Aurora kits. Does anyone know anything about this find? Such as: 1. How many kits were found 2. What kits were found 3. Where in Saskatchewan they w...

What about the Atlantis animal kits - Bison; Bear & Cubs etc etc. Were they made using the original Aurora moulds?

Re: So, which kits did Polar Lights reverse engineer?

I think that we first need to establish and agree upon a master list of kits.

It is the reverse engineered kit that Polar Lights produced 20+ years ago.

Thanks. I thought so but just wanted to confirm.
