Re: Can anyone ID this vintage werewolf/wolfman head sculpt?
Looks to me like someone used a screen grab from a monster movie then did a painting over it. The original photo probably bore little resemblance to the finished product. Good thought, but I don't believe so. What I think we're looking at here is a hand-colored photo of a sculpture. Looking at the ...

Re: Can anyone ID this vintage werewolf/wolfman head sculpt?
I would say so, yeah- plus, it would have to have been a full-head mask... that would be unheard of, back then, in commercially available product! (Somebody correct me if I'm wrong!)scuzzfink85 wrote:It's too good for a Halloween mask from back then?

Can anyone ID this vintage werewolf/wolfman head sculpt?
This is the cover art from a 45rpm 7" titled "Music For Monsters", issued by a company called Sounds Records out of Glendale, CA some time in the 1960s: https://i.postimg.cc/R0DRqZhH/MfM7.png https://i.postimg.cc/DzZ62Xvh/MfM7.jpg The cover definitely looks photographic, to me, and I ...

Painter wanted: portrait only on 1/6 gorilla head sculpt
Hi all, Looking to hire someone to do just the portrait on a 1/6 head sculpt of a gorilla (and really, it's just his face- top and back of his head are in a space helmet). Would like to find someone who can do a good realistic/naturalistic take on it, especially those orangey-hazel gorilla eyes, whi...

1/24 scale portrait painter wanted for production run
Hello All, Looking to commission someone to partially paint a small (10 – 12 pieces) production run of 1/24 scale (approx. 3.5” tall) figures. Figures are cast in hard rubber (think of the old M.U.S.C.L.E. mini-figures), produced here in Vermont. The figure you would be painting is a 4-armed humanoi...

Nice, Todd!
Thank you!
Wow, I love Ron Cobb's stuff... I wouldn't have pegged this as his, immediately, but I can see it now...

Old latex alien mask ID help needed- Johnson Smith ad
Hi all- I was wondering if anyone could help with any info at all on this mask, which appeared in many of the Johnson Smith catalogs I received as a kid in the late 70s/early 80s: http://s33.postimg.cc/7jfv3z99r/Glo_Alien.jpg This one was always odd because the picture of it (and the skull mask next...

I also came up completely empty on Google... but another friend on FB revealed that these two were background characters on a Krofft special, "Krofft Supershow". Figures!

Any ID help would be appreciated!

Ugh... well, thank you, Phil... I had a suspicion that might be the case. I will just go really slowly and carefully, then, and hope everything holds!

Stripping concern: interaction of acetone and Aves Apoxie?
Just wondering if anyone has had experience using acetone to strip paint off of cured Aves. I need to strip a vinyl piece that has many large areas of Aves-work under the paint. I am not so worried about the acetone hurting the Aves, but am a bit concerned about it possibly weakening the bond of the...

Re: Old weird mystery toy ID help
Teletubbies was my friend's first thought, too, but he's pretty knowledgeable when it comes to vintage vinyl toys, and he's fairly certain that this toy is of an an earlier vintage than the Teletubbies' late 90s heyday. And, as someone who had a toddler during that craze and saw his share of Teletub...

Old weird mystery toy ID help
Alright Clubhouse, I put this identification challenge to you on the off-chance that someone here will be able to help. A friend of mine found the vinyl toy below at a garage sale in Southern California in 2007. No markings of any kind to indicate manufacturer, character name, or year of production....

New pics from the Galerie F store page... what the photos above only faintly captured is that Brian's signature phantom skeletal linework runs through the whole head... and this is printed in glow ink  : http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i115/ungawa222/10169428_10152790531157435_6454656975698...

Wonderful Nosferatu poster by Brian Ewing
The mega-talented poster artist Brian Ewing (http://www.brianewing.com/) has a new solo show, "Scream With Me", that just opened on Friday at Chicago's Galerie F (http://www.galerief.com/). There's lots of work in the show that would be of interest to folks here, but I just had to post abo...
