Love it! A childhood favorite that seemed to be on heavy rotation on the TV when I has a kid. The film has a charm of it's own.

If this is the show that was in Australia, Kong is a giant type of animatronic and marionette I don't know about the play but Kong was an impressive piece of stagecraft. If I remember correctly wasn't there a live stage/dance show that preceded the film when it originally opened at Grauman's Chinese...

I really enjoyed it and thought the cast was great and the overall production was top notch. I made me interested enough to seek out the book which I found to be a huge disappointment. Looking forward to season 3.
