I was impressed with the face, which struck me as a departure from so many typical features ma...

Excellent work. I especially like the shading, and the rusted pipe effect.

Re: Miniature Figure Sources
In addition to the great input already given, I'd like to add Verlinden has gone out of business. You can still find some of the product available, but now whatever is out there is limited. One suggestion I have is not a figure brand, but a dealer. Red Lancers carries a huge assortment of figures an...

Re: Gandalf the Grey
Good30......someone else told me about the marking, but if it should have been pretty obvious mine didn't have it. I inspected the piece when I received it to generally find seam lines and imperfections. I don't remember anything on the bottom. That was smooth. The hollowed out backside didn't appea...

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/924/AgWv3R.jpg I came across this fantastic bust while browsing one night, and ended up with it. This is a 1/2 scale resin bust of Ian McKellen as Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies. It came all the way from China, and was beautifully cast. No f...

FeR Miniatures Baerkrom
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/923/BU4xML.jpg This is a 1/8 scale resin bust by FeR Miniatures named Baerkrom. I bought this at the IPMS Nationals contest earlier this year. It was a lot of fun to paint, and I chose not to duplicate the war paint he has on the box art. Instead I tried my fir...

Best in show photo
I attended back in 2014, and took my own photo of what turned out to be the Best in Show winner. I've seen photos of that winner for 2015 and 2016. Does anyone have a good photo of the model that won this award for 2017? If so, thanks for sharing it.

Re: Pirate Girl bust
Thanks for the kind words. Ric, I've used Humbrol for decades, and like the coverage. For some basic colors like metallics I use the cheap Testors. It does the job just fine. I've even used a few of the Model Master colors, when they make something perfect for my needs. Hope this helps.
