Re: American Werewolf in London bust
Hi Paul, this was a Lee Ames sculpt although I initially thought it was Joe Bailey (given the rendering of the fur), but David Nicholson confirmed that it was Lee). It did come with a fairly plain base of its own, but I recycled an old one

Re: American Werewolf in London bust
Hi Dave, Wow, not seen that one before! Is that your build? Looks very nice, have you got any more pics from other angles? There was also a classic mid change study, possibly from back in the 90's, David Naughton on his knees, screaming and hands stretching? Might have been Neil Simms? I remember s...

Re: American Werewolf in London bust
May I be the first to commend your beautiful work Dave! The glass eyes certainly bring it to life, looking suitably aggressive with that wonderful set of teeth, blood and saliva too! I'm sorry to say I have zero kits in my collection based on this incredible, ground breaking film, most of the ones ...

American Werewolf in London bust
Finally finished this huge beast. Eyes are glass replacements which look a damn sight better than any hand-painted attempt that I would be capable of. Excellent sculpt as ever from Darren Harvey DFX Studio, released by Killer Kits. I was originally going to add the severed hand to a base, but I deci...

Milicent Patrick
Finished Typhon Studios' 1/4 scale Millicent Patrick the other day, the photos may not show the colours up properly (looked good on the i-phone). Millicent was the uncredited designer of the Creature of the Black Lagoon. For those that notice the #5 marking on the inside of the Creature's mask, it h...

Re: My first resin Predator
This sculpt (along with the "companion" Dark Horse Jungle Hunter) will always hold a special place in my heart. They were the very first 3D representations of my fave character/franchise I ever realised existed . . . I'd seen the movies, bought the VHS tapes, the DVD's, the soundtrack CD'...

Re: Mr Barlow
Very eerie Dave, loving the dead blue tones and eyes! Salem's Lot scared me big time when it first came out, James Mason's line 'Oh yes, you'll like Mr Barlow, and Mr Barlow will like you...!' is priceless! Cheers, Paul Cheers Paul, definitely a creepy one - I have been given permission to leave it...

Lovely work Dave, it's a great piece. It must have come out 20 years ago... Cheers Ant, I hadn't realised it had been around that long. JV himself advised me of the scale :). You just had to make me look.... :) The pictures I have of my finished one are dated May 2003 so yes, it's been a while :-) ...

Re: Breakfast at Tiffany's [Farm] - Post Apocalyptic Diorama
Thanks All for the comments, definitely a project between projects :). I had originally intended to add interior details the farmhouse, but as it wouldn't be seen from the rear I decided not to. Also had a few MiniArt bits for the 'workshop' which I didn't use in the end as they would not have been ...

Thank You, yes, I was put on to them by a friend who uses them as I had never heard of them either.tay666 wrote:Looks great!
I had to look up what a cabochon was.
They look great and really give it an eerie sort of presence.

Master Box Satyr
1/24th Scale figure from Master Box. Part of their Ancient Greek Myth Series, these are very nicely detailed IP figures. Had I more time (working to a deadline) I would have added their Centaur figure which is firing an arrow, and used a larger base. p.s. since the photo was taken I have 'hidden' th...

Breakfast at Tiffany's [Farm] - Post Apocalyptic Diorama
Not sure if this is the right section for this one. A 1/35th (and similar) scale diorama depicting a scene at Tiffany's Farm in a post-apocalyptic world. The figures are from Nuts Planet, Modern Armies in Miniature (M.A.I.M.), and some that I printed off. Buildings are from RT - Dioramas. Having slo...

Mr Barlow
Finished (Killer Kits') Mr Barlow this week, I must admit the larger scale busts do present new challenges. I couldn't get the 'blue' skin-tone to look right so went with the 'get-out clause' of 'artistic license' and just went for what you see. Eyes are cabochons, and have put the sh*ts up all who ...

AWIL
AWIL sculpted by Jimmy Verbeeck. Not sure what the availability is on this one, I picked it up at a UKGK Show 2-3 years ago. Sculpting and casting are both excellent. Scale is 1/15th (120mm). I didn't feel brave enough to paint a 'checked' shirt so took the easy way and left it at red. https://i.pos...

Thanks Paul, got there in the end LOLTiger2 wrote:Great work Dave,
There's a lot of fine detail going on in that diorama, you've really captured that Victorian laboratory flavour!
The figure's superb too, we just need a UKGK show now to see it up close, roll on 2022!
Take care and all the best,
Paul

Kent Kidwell's Frankenstein - Diorama Completed
Latest off ‘the bench’ is the final version of Kent Kidwell’s big ‘Wrightson-style’ Frankenstein’s ‘Monster’. The figure was finished a while back, but the backdrop has been on an off for a while, but finally finished. The copper-gizmo is an old Airfix early steam engine kit which looked appropriate...
