Large Marge

#1 Post by kevtk135 »

“And when they finally pulled the drivers body
from the twisted burning wreck, it looked like… THIS…”

Hey gang. I never learn. Still terrible at this sculpting thing. But I’m too thick to quit.
Here’s my take on Marge Marge from the Pee Wee Herman movie.

Slowing the vid way down, it looks like they used some painted steel wool or batting for her hair. But as I have some Cosclay and also watch that Ace of Clay guy on YT use the stuff, I decided to use that too.
CCs welcome and thanks for looking.

Spot on. 8) 8) 8)
Helena is here at hand;
And the youth, mistook by me,
Pleading for a lover's fee.
Shall we their fond pageant see?
Lord, what fools these mortals be! -Puck

I am not familiar with the character, but I do know that looks cool.

Thanks!
She comes from the movie Pee Wee's Big Adventure. A movie so dumb you can't hep but laugh -at least thats me.
There's one part where Pee Wee hitch hikes and gets pick up by a trucker. Once inside the driver starts telling a horror story!

The part I did happens so fast that at the appropriate spot I put play back at 25% and then freeze framed to try and see everything.

Thanks.
Yep, I was planning on painting her, but the red plaid shirt is causing me pause. Actually if you see the human her, she's got 2(!) red plaid shirts on. Each with a slightly different pattern. I know I don't have to be exact... but holy Moses! :lol2:

Years ago, I book marked a site for tips on painting more complex patterns like leopard spots and tartans.

If you take the plunge on plaid this link may help.: http://dclough.org/hom/?p=596

Took a long while to get back to this. Firstly all the hair had to be removed because it baked up brittle. Seems I forgot to condition the Cosclay, so instead of being rubbery, it just fell apart in your fingers.

So then I applied some of the air dry light weight clay (forget the name at the moment)
In the end I think I over did it, and it looks like a Simpsons character to me... but oh well.

Firstly I chopped the figure to create a more bust-like size. Believe it or not I just crossed my fingers and used a regular chop saw...
Created a base for it. Toughest part was figuring out how to freehand the letters on the base..
Thanks for looking.
