Yagher Frank Chained

#1 Post by Anton Phibes »

There's a fella that has popped in at another forum I frequent asking about specifics for this kit. I am trying to help him find out who made it, how many others exist, year it was made and any other specifics for it. He says its huge. Any help appreciated.

Sculpted by Jeff Yagher (I believe the painted example is by Saul Alvarez)
1/6 scale (and yes, it's huge. I passed on the original release because of the size)
Originally produced by Rob Salony (about 5-6 years ago?)
Paul Gill acquired the rights about three years ago.
The kit is currently out of production although Paul announced plans as recently as last year to rerelease the kit with an overhauled base; Paul's announced plan was to feature the monster and chair alone - no stone wall backdrop.

Yup I own that work of Art.
We just haven't had time to get it all ready.
It's about 90% done. We got lucky and are working with the original clay master.

Actually Jeff tried to talk the original producer out of doing the prison clam shell base. In the end it's what the customer wanted. I have an original copy and it's impressive but the molds were huge and casting it I Can imagine was a bitch. Our version will be much more shelf friendly.

Actually I have and love the deluxe version of this kit with the back wall, and I would purchase it again with the wall if I didn't have it because although the wall is a large chunk of resin it really adds to the scene and makes it complete!

The amount of resin would cost too much.

That is true especially that prices went up on resin.
I have the original molds for the wall there huge, and to be honest a good modeler could make it fairly easy with foam or other materials. I applaud forbidden zone for getting a bunch of them out there. We are currently getting our version ready for reissue. It's still going to be alot of kit.

I purchased the Deluxe version of this Frankenstein Chained kit when it was first issued, I absolutely love the huge back wall because it really enhances and completes the scene of the monster, granted it is a heavy kit weighing in at 24 lbs.
