1/3 scale? that's HUGE, man! Best of luck. Oh and I'm looking forward to see the pointers the pro gave you on your angles. Since I think that is what I lack also. This jam gonna be delicious.

For me, I think I'll stick with 1/10 for now. Need to twirl some wire. One barbarian/jungle/amazon warrior coming up.
yeah will do mate (post some pics in Dark n Sexy next week).... been working on knees today and correcting the Dark Elf. i think what i have done is better but will take her along next week and get a verdict.
i also need to go to the Copy Shop and have my chart blown up to 24 inch but its back to work in the morning,,,, :(

heres a link if you fancy looking. he's a real nice fella...http://www.andrew-sinclair.com/

Hey guys, totally new here. Been sculpting for about a year now, mostly without instruction and stumbled across this place. I love the idea of doing these Jam sessions and looking forward to attempting a barbarian.
Not sure what materials most people are using but I have Roma Plastilina, soft. Wish it wasn't soft, but i was able to get a bunch for free from some classmates in a 3D design class that didn't want it after the project.

Anyway, Ill be using Kratos as my main reference cause I love how manly and just dangerous his face is. Doing a bust, don't have too much time to work on him. I'm just hoping that my female figure and bust ill be working on at the same time don't affect how manly he is, haha.

anyway, really excited to participate and see what everyone comes up with :D

Welcome to the Jams and the Clubhouse kavorka! :D

Jump right on into it, whatever you have is fine enough. You could use Crisco to sculpt with if you wanted to.

Welcome to the Jams, Kavorka. We hope you have a wonderful time..... since you won't be getting out  whahahahahaha

Seriously, you might get dreams with Dennis in them... like those Kreuger dreams, but with sculpting tools. Oh the horror... and don't get us started on the SDS (streaker Dennis syndrome). The last one will really motivated you to finish a sculpt. REALLY. Hope you have a nice stay

Hope you guys at the states have a nice turkey day!

Tim: Sweet dude, we'll be waiting eagerly for Dark and Sexy and your new huge-as-space balls-1/3-sculpt hot dang!
Jnr: Hmm... haven't heard from you in a while. What are you scheming my friend? Is there a surprise along the way?

You're right.....when Jr. goes into silent running mode he usually surfaces like a nuclear submarine with a full compliment of intercontinental, ballistic missiles of sculpting mayhem. 8)

*whew*, I think I hurt my brain with that analogy.

gotta admit i'm wondering have much clay i'll need !!! might have to cheat and bulk out eh? but bones out would be a good lesson.
another reason for stepping up a scale is that i hope to do the Level 1 anantomy course next year in March with Andrew Crawse over at Anantomy Tools and thats the size ya do!!
thinking chavant soft maybe or plasticine as its very cheap...... i like the red stuff but it dont photo too well imo. never sure you guys can see the surfaces. wish Chavant would do it in Gray.....

Hi All
This is my first time taking part in the clubhouse JAM, very excited about this. :) . Any kind souls can tell me if I need to register to participate or I can just start a new thread and start posting my entries?. or if there are any other rules I need to take note of? I understand the JAM is a great learning process and also for those whom are more experience to critic and help each other out. That's great!
Each Jam Theme will run for 2 weeks?. It's kinda short if its not done full time?.

Warm regards
Nailuj :)

i havent but aim to go in person next year 8) . the preview video of an old class was cool plus i have his dvd on sculpting the Skull and you can tell he's a good and patient teacher. cant wait!!
i also have the V1 Male and Female which are invaluable to learners like us. hint at one for xmas or save like hell; a brilliant visual tool! :thumb2:

Hey Nailuj! welcome to the jams; hope you have fun and join in the banter... :D :alcoholic:

Nailuj: Welcome! You might want to read this first http://theclubhouse1.net/phpBB3/viewtop ... =9&t=22094

Amusedjester and Dennis will fill you in on the details, they are the resident mod for the jams. So if you have any question just ask them.
To answer your question, no you don't need to start a new thread. Just dump it all in this thread. You don't NEED to finish but it is recommended. Just sculpt as best as you can as fast as you can. Some of the jammers can plug in 3 sculpt in a jam.

The most important thing: Don't be hard on yourself and HAVE FUN! can't stress the later enough.
TCH SCULPTING JAM = FUN

Enjoy your stay!

Jump right in and post your Jam pics in this thread.

Usually they do run for two weeks, but we play it by ear so it could be a one week Jam or a month long extravaganza. The original idea of the Jams is to do it quick and build your speed and sculpting skills without worrying about the nitty-gritty details that bog you down on a "serious" sculpt.

right , well i have my character sorted and locked in mind. i have done the chicken dance  and decided on a smaller scale- 1/6th for the sake of clay/weight and such but will talk to that guy i know and get some advice on doing large pieces like 1/3. he's bound to know.

i figure 1/6 is half the size of a 24" piece and could act as the maquette . i need tips on bulking something that large and i know Andrew uses some kind of very dense squeeze on foam which he carves. i'll have to enquire where he sources it from. i've already pleaded for a lesson or ten in waterclay! he's gonna let me know!!

so my Barbarian will be a 12- 14 inch version of...... Thor!! with some conan style realism and some historical leanings with the clothing and i fancy giving him a beard that plaited in some fashion borrowing from warhammer dwarves imagery there...

mods , i hope Thor is cool and fits the bill. otherwise i'm stumped!

There is a picture of Thor up there, but if you look closely (and I mean really close) you'll notice a disclaimer that reads; "This character is available to all Jammers EXCEPT for Tim."

What are the odds?

Knock yourself out Tim! I, for one, can't wait to see your take on the ol' Norsedude! :D

Free! I'm Free!. Really, you can pick me up at the corner of Looney and Tunes and i'm yours free! Seriously, I wasn't running silent. I was in Turkey Jail. Yup! Incarcerated by the turkey police for eating so much turkey and gravy and marshed potaters. I am stuffed. Stuffed full of goodies and ready for X-mas.

So many posts, and two new Jammers. :alcoholic: :bday: Welcome! Enjoy and have Fun. I can't wait to see what you guys have been up to.

Hey guys, just wanted to post some WIPs. Only had a couple hours so far and im still blocking out basic anatomy. Not my strongest point so any anatomy help would be nice. Im using Kratos as a referene but not trying to recreate him. Also looking at body builders. Anyone know where I can find body builders in dynamic poses? All I can find is them flexing.
