kitator's current events

#1 Post by kitator »

I will be leaving the hobby of kits and other collectibles over time due to mounting hospital bills and others. I have not shared this but at the end of 2022, and all the way to now,I have acquired a serious heart condition. Over the past 3 years I have been on a few ambulance rides to the emergency room, paddle shocked in the chest, been in i.c.u. a few times ,and other hospital stays. I have had 2 knee replacements due to bone on bone, and several torn ligaments from my sports days and other stupid stunts that are becoming serious crippling issues. I've had several blood infections, that nearly took me out from the knee replacement. And to top it off,I haven't been able to work in 3 years. And to top it off again I lost use of my right arm since I have a severe torn, bone on bone rotator in my shoulder. And guess what,my neck was broke, and 2 protruded disc in my back from an accident in 2020,yet I worked anyway till 2022,and didn't find out the neck and back injuries were as bad as they were till 2024 when I went to see why I'm getting shooting pains and nerve issues. After getting Covid a few times,I also ended up with diabetes. I feel better now ,but I have no strength or stamina. I am up a few minutes and have to sit a few minutes and repeat to get anything done. After the surgeries, Doctors said use a walker only, but I can walk short distances and on crutches and a cane the rest of the time. Doctors didn't expect me to make it out of the hospital the last few times the past 18 months. I nearly died 4 times in i.c.u. I never told any of my family or friends from pride, and said to myself "tough your way through it". No,Im not a hypochondriac, and I did not and still do not want sympathy. All I want is for my wife to be ok. She got me through the last 3 years, and she activated my willpower to live to get through it. If not for her,I would have burned it all,and gave up.Insurance has dropped me 6 months ago,and Ive been unable to work the past 3 years, and bills are piling up,so I'm gonna drop the pride/tough guy bs to tell all my family and friends what is going on,and why I have to sell everything from my collection. The collection is huge, and I love it,but it all needs a new keeper. Some of it is part of gk history. I've NEVER asked for help from anyone. Always toughed it out ,and always helped others in need when I could. Again,no sympathy. Just telling you all incase one day I'm no longer around.
I'm also not the same person anymore after all the injuries. I have a very different outlook on life. Ive always been very humble, even with everything Ive accomplished. The being to proud to ask for help is a thing of the past though.
I am considering a go Fund me,or other avenues to get these bills paid.
Now I have to get back to organizing the collection to start selling. It's one way I might get back where I need to be. Keep an eye out in the "swap and sale" section of the CH,and various pages on FB. My wife,Prescha Renee Taylor Sansone, and I will be putting up some nice collectibles for awhile. Atleast that's the plan. There are a few thousand rare kits, and we'll be posting them as we find them. Also rare prepaints, figures, and rare comics.
Sorry so long. I look forward to your replies.
Thank you all,Anthony Sansone

Hey bud.

Having read the other thread where you said you were going to be selling off some of your collection, I did wonder if something serious was going on but obviously wasn't going to pry, even given our history.

I had no idea that things have been so challenging for you, and am honestly quite shocked, and am so sorry to hear about all your troubles.

You have long been a stalwart in the community - giving to, and being supportive of, so many others over the years (ah - the "behind the scenes" stories we could share).

Forgetting any possible sales for now, if there is anything I or anyone else here can do in order to help you & Prescha, please don't be shy in asking - via PM if that would make it easier.

Again - you know where I am dude - just ping me.

Ian/Spike.

I second all of the earlier comments and wish you Godspeed. As a much older UK friend once told me many years ago when he was ailing: "We all walk the same way."

The older we get the more family and friends loom larger in importance - and things - less and less. We will keep you in our prayers too.

Sorry you have been going through this.
Sounds like life has put some huge hurdles in front of you, and so far you've been knocking them down and still moving forward.
Glad to year you have an amazing wife by your side. That makes a huge difference.
Hopefully the kit sales go well, and help you out.

I'm very sorry to hear of your challenges, any one of which may have floored another person.
I wish you all the very best in the future and in the sale of your collection.

Thank you all for the positive messages. I've been away sick a few days. My immune system is shot and pretty nauseated daily now. Makes it very hard to work on this project. I have a few items posted in swap n sell with pics now.

I've been working on the FB all day prepping the sale. Extremely time consuming. I did post a few things here and on some FB groups. Too many groups,so I'm gonna narrow it down to my personal page, and 2 model groups on FB since you can only "share" one group at a time, and most people are on all the groups anyway. This should save some time. Below are the links on FB I will be posting kits on daily, sometimes hourly.

Hey bud - if you could list the kits here it would at least allow Clubhouse members without Facebook access to see what you have.

I understand the time involved, so PM me if you wanted me to sort that out for you, we could find a way for you to send everything to me and I'll do what I can to upload text and/or pics.

No worries if you'd rather stick with Facebook only though.

Ian,I'll try but it is very time consuming and most people I believe are on FB now.
I created my own Facebook page last night to post everything in my own page to isolate what I'm selling from everyone else.
