That Chris Walas fella sure has some talent! - I'll have to see what else he has done (I don't recognise the name).
.
Christopher Walas is an American special effects legend, make-up effects artist, film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his work on the film The Fly, for which he won an Academy Award and was nominated for two British Academy Film Awards. He did sculpts for garage kits back in the days. Best known for his sculpt for the Dark Horse Creature from the Black Lagoon. He and Rick Baker designed and created the puppets for Gremlins and Gremlins 2. There is an article on him in the Amazing Figure Modeler Premier issue.

Actually, that Phantom is public domain, no licensing required. And as far as I'm concerned, a kit can never have too many parts! The more parts, the more time I spend with it!

Films can be public domain all day long. Truth is, the actor's likenesses are not.

I absolutely agree... More parts = less Silly Putty!!!
It also allows you to make the kit able to be disassembled
for transport/shipping.
