queens of oblivion

#1 Post by Stark »

3 fantasy statue prototypes i painted for taurus workshop. sculptor is caleb nefzen, one of the rock stars in the statue industry. in my view statue sculptors got a different taste compared with garage kit sculptors, more fashionized, more popular. and i like old stuff, been floating on the garage kit sea for more than 10 years so i had to keep up with caleb's sculpture work during the painting process.
skalythia got a medusa look and it was designed by scarlett brooks, the other two were designed by caleb nefzen himself. and they have some switchable heads and arms.
color theme of these 3 pieces are by me.

Wow!
They all look amazing. Great skin tones, nice use of metalics. Love the color palettes.

My favorite is Skalythia.
Something about the variety of texture and finish. The iridescent scales, the metalics, subtle use of gloss, and the contrast with the dead flat.
It just looks fabulous.

I will never complain about painting fatigue again.

That is a dizzying amount of work.
I would lose my mind just trying to paint one of them.

Beautiful work.
Helena is here at hand;
And the youth, mistook by me,
Pleading for a lover's fee.
Shall we their fond pageant see?
Lord, what fools these mortals be! -Puck
