This was quite a bit of work and took a LOT of patience, but I really, really dig this diorama!

FANTASTIC. Excellent diorama Tim. Your experience and talent are really on show.

Your treatment of the Robotrix is terrific. I've been contemplating what I might do with the rather boring paintjob I did on my Masadaya version. I think this is it. Thanks!

Yes, they could have tried a lot harder on the likeness of Rotwang though Frederson's pretty decent.

Thanks for sharing -- Inspirational! Off to the workbench!

Thanks, folks. Yes, Frederson looks EXACTLY like Frederson. It makes the Rotwang problem even weirder.

Arrrg! The back wall is warping!

I used foamcore board (like the stuff you mount posters on).

I just went to the craft store and got a piece of 1/4" maple plywood to use instead.

Grrrr......

Sorry to hear that. Glad you caught it early enough to fix it.

This film is definitely a top 10 for me. I was interested to find someone who built this, as I was watchng Lou Dalmasso, the Aztek Dummy guy, also build it. He too was having troubles with Rotwang (what sort of proper German mad scientist name is that?) ;) He solved the hair problem with epoxy sculpt AND cotton batting, and I really didn't like the result.
Yours is more in tune with how he looked on screen. Awesome build!
