X-Plus Styrene Cyclops Kit

#1 Post by bucketfoot-al »

Well, here's my take on this baby.

Tim Casey built this one up and I acquired it from him last week. Thanks Tim! :D

It was a great build-up, but the colors were a little flat for my taste, so I repainted it (partly) as follows:

Cage and man & skeleton got one brown oil wash to bring out detail;

The base got a brown, then a black oil wash;

The Cyclops upper body got several flesh and orange color oil washes;

The legs got: mixed reddish-brown oil paint, then black oil wash, then some acrylic light reddish-brown dry-brushing, followed by a light black oil wash, then matte sealant.

Now it looks a little brighter up on my shelf (like on the Bluray edition, and as I remember it from the big screen).

Yes, very nice mods BA. You're really running with the oil washes now.

A good example of how far styrene has come in recent years. I think I might have to get me one of those...

This looks great Vlad.
Looks even better with one eye closed. :wink:

I like the how the skeleton is shown hanging from a rope; no doubt the poor fella decided hanging himself was preferable to being ripped apart and eaten.
