Buc's 'Kits Thru the Years'

#1 Post by Buc Wheat »

KIT YEARS files: I decided to Zip up all the years and make them available to anyone who liked to have a copy.

It's a hefty 2.57 GB file, but lots of history. We've certainly enjoyed some great kits to add to our stash from some great producers and sculptors! Thanks to you all!

Well THAT was a pleasant surprise to get up to this-morning - thanks Buc !!!!

Downloaded, and I'll follow the instructions later . . . if it turns out to be your collection of female models in sailor uniforms then that'll be OK too.

Seriously though - VERY much appreciated, as is the massive amount of effort you have put into this over the years. A truly unique & irreplaceable collection of information =D> =D> =D>

PS: You forgot to mention the hidden "Easter egg" click on the space indicated and you get access to volumes 10 & 11 (2018 through 2021) - previously only available to gold-star subscribers

You were seriously dropped on your head as a Yute, weren't you? :P

Thanks, all. Let me know if there's any problem w/ the zip file. Hear some
folks on FB were having troubles.

Several times - some of them were even accidental :o

Still - look at how I turned out . . . it must have stabilised me to a degree (well - that and the electro-shock therapy).

I've not yet unpacked the zip file yet - I'll let you know if I encounter issues (or not).

Yeah - there's def. some issues.

If what I describe below matches the problems others have reported, and no-one else is helping you, feel free to PM me when you have chance and we can work together offline to resolve.

How is anyone else here getting on with this?

If I click on the "Start Here" without unpacking, I get this . . .
      • Image

And if I DO unpack everything (using 7-Zip), I get TONS of this type of error . . .
      • Image

Then the ones that HAVE unpacked show in their correct folder (when viewed in Windows 10 File Explorer), but those that DIDN'T get a "default" icon and won't open.

In no way is this a complaint as I sincerely appreciate the offering here, but I have downloaded several times and when I try to extract the files, I get a message saying the file is empty (even though the file size is 2+GB.). Could easily be operator error, but let me know if anyone has a solve. In any case, Buc you rock!

Hmmm.... mine won't open with Winzip on a Mac. It flashes open for a split second and then Winzip shuts down.

And Archive Utility handles it well - first it "zips" the .zip file (about three minutes), then it "unzips" what it just zipped - and you're back to where you started. Ya gotta love these pesky computers!

(P.S. it's not the size of the file that's an issue. I download 2+GB files of hi-res classical music all the time and open them with Winzip.)

I really appreciate what you're doing, by the way. And I really feel your pain. Sometimes trying to run my own website makes me want to scream....

That was using Safari on a mac - I used Firefox and it downloaded fine.

I'm also looking at it right now - this is a labor of love! Thanks so much! :D

Using Firefox on W10 I got a similar "security warning" to Tim, but that was easily ignored/bypassed.

Now downloading (taking a LOT longer than your initial file) and will let you know.

As others have said - I really appreciate your efforts on this bud!
