Couple of small bits - I wanted something for the base of the Gypsy Danger I recently finished, so did a quick mock up of the emblem in Fusion and printed it out. First one ended up being a bit too big, so knocked it down a little and had another go.
Also wanted a better base for Mondoshiwan, so modelled up the top part of one of the elemental stones. Could have easily have just done this in styrene, but it was just well, quicker in CAD! Again ad a couple of goes, this time started off too small before settling on the one below. Stone texture was added by stippling on paint mixed with fine marble grit with a sponge.
My printing output has slowed considerably since I’ve changed focus to detailed figures and dioramas in Zbrush. Folks didn’t seem too interested in what I’ve been working on, so I haven’t been posting anything.

Just printed a batch of odds n sods in some new clear resin - came out of the vat beautiful and crystal clear, but as I'd read it fogged over when cleaning with IPA and then yellowed noticeably when post-curing. But there was only a couple of the pieces that needed to be clear.
In here we have some parts for the 3rd in my series of Jaws mini dioramas, some accessories for the Joe Simon Abe Sapien's breather unit that I was never happy with, a couple of replacement throttle handles for the Bandai speeder bike (lost one at a show!) and a tolerance tester...
Really nice! The fogging can be reduced with Novus polish. The yellowing MIGHT be a symptom of over-curing. You could try reducing the lighting power a smidge if that's an option in the Photon.
I've been working on a God of Robots diorama from the cover of Queen's News of the World album. I was never happy with the old Sideshow kit for a variety of reasons, so this was my chance to do the kit I always wanted. Really pleased that the Moai managed to capture the details in the tiny Brian May and Freddie Mercury figures.

You folks - with your knowledge AND skillset on these printers - leave me gobsmacked in the same way various sculptors & painters have impressed me over the years.
Absolutely this is the future! But it is arriving very quickly!
I'm continually gobsmacked at just how easy it is to knock something up in CAD and then print it out and it's PERFECT! Exactly the right size! Every thing is straight. Everything is square. And if you need more than one... copy.. paste... paste... paste.
It is totally revolutionising the creation of master patterns for "mechanical" kits - vehicles, hardware etc, and whilst the more organic subject will still require considerable digital sculpting ability, there are areas where it will ultimately trump traditional sculpture such as all those geometric textures coming out on superhero costumes these days that would be incredibly laborious to do by hand.
Within a year I expect to see decent resin printers in the <$200 price band. The DLP ones like the Photon (rather than true lasers like the Moai) are mechanically very simple, with only one moving axis compared to 3 found in a traditional FDM printer. The bulk of the cost goes on having a high enough resolution of LCD screen and this will come down with volume (as the resolution goes up).

It's been liberating for me. I feel like I can make anything I want. My only problems are making time to build and paint what I produce, and deciding what to do next.

Not true...I was really digging your Mars Attacks Martian you were working on.

My FDM has been churning out prints for a few weeks, but nothing model related - I'm currently building a R Pi based arcade console and it needs lots of "gizmos"
Not quite to the point of printing yet, but I was having fun with Zbrush 2019's render modes and thought I'd share a sneak peek of my current project. This was done with the "charcoal" shader and I thought it suited the character well. Well read folks may be able to ID my version of the character.

Finally got my workshop set up and the printers humming again. Really happy with how these came out - two adaptations of "Sofubi" monsters drawn by Erwin Papa. Here are Erwin's original drawings and my prints. Both were a lot of fun to do.

I'm currently modding the Retrokit 1/72nd M577 APC for lighting (front, back, sides, searchlight and guns) which is involving some teeeeey prints on my Photon
I bought the Elegoo Mars Resin Printer and have been printing minis. Pretty happy so far with the results and should be trying my own stuff soon. The two figures are from a Hero Forge demo file.
