When I initially pitched the idea to Jeff, he wasn't really crazy about it. I said every other kit moment from the film has already been done. Some to death. He said, let me watch it again. After watching it again, Jeff agreed with me.Heavy Metal Spike wrote:John/Jeff - who gets the idea and/or does the art direction on these pieces? What Jeff said.dupacucc wrote:It's a scene from the 1st creature film. They burn him by throwing a lantern at him while's he's on the ship.

Ye gads....I totally forgot that scene. I guess I am getting forgetful earlier than I anticipated. Especially considering I have seen that particular film a zillion times, lol.dupacucc wrote:It's a scene from the 1st creature film. Now here's the thing. Almost all of the Yagher Classics have been a collaboration. Sometimes it's 100% Jeff's idea. Sometimes it's 100% my idea. But here's the thing. Whatever we choose, it's still just a concept. It's completely up to Jeff to fill in the blanks. Which speaks volumes to his incredible talent. I had no idea what I was going to see. All I knew was that it was going to be the Creature, on the deck, on fire.
When I saw the pics, I was completely blown away. I couldn't be happier with this sculpt.
Anyway. I hope that explains the process.

One thing that I will chime in on here....I am grateful for some new POSES Jeff has sculpted on our beloved Universal characters.XOFACTO2 wrote: Now here's the thing. Those are Forbidden Zone kits. Jeff did do the Cushing lift but the SOF trio was sculpted by someone else. I think. Jeff did do a SOF and Ygor for me but I don't think that's the trio you're talking about.monsterjones wrote:... Son of Frankenstein trio and Curse of Frankenstein Chushing lift...
Unfortunately, no. Jeff literally just finished the sculpt. He'll be shipping some of the parts to Mark Brokaw for molding and casting. I'll be doing the base parts. Thing is, I'm not filling any orders until my foot is completely healed. Probably about two more months.Vintageone wrote:Beautiful! Estimate time of availability John?
