still on this guys. going quite well.
i am using sculpey and seeing how far i can push the material. also doing some other characters while i wait through the endless baking times..... my character is series baked and boy is it long winded!!

i am doing a DC character for my Girl, so on that one i made a basic posed mannequin/doll then carved in the land marks and re-baked before applying fresh clay over the top.
been using Fimo. seems a very firm clay not prone to cracks.

also doing a figure in Magic Sculpt as i have a bunch. cooks off real quick in my oven too.

hope you mods are all ok.

:alcoholic: I don't know what to say about the Jams. They started off so well this year and now seem to have died an ignominious death.

Not sure what happened to ths jams. There have been some great ideas. I am still three or four jams back. I know when you posted this one I saw the center picture and thought it would be awesome to do all mini busts like Mount Rushmore but that is way over my head.

I've been spending more time building and painting kits lately then I have been sculpting. And have been kinda been wanting to get back to drawing a bit more lately. Something I haven't done much of in about 16 years or so but it's seemed to have been calling lately. So I just haven't been doing much with the clay/wax lately. That's my excuse.

Maybe more ambigious Jams would be cool so they could be incooporated into sculpts were thinking of doing? As i have so many lined up at the moment that id love to do but i usually only manage to do 2 hrs a night during the week. Maybe like an Expressions jam or Hands and Feet Movement in clothing? I saw an amazing Anime model the other day at the London Expo and the movement in the clothing was amazing; something i thought id love to be able to capture some day.

i have switched materials again; that makes 4!

the polyclay did end up cracking.....
went to chavant Beau Touche :D like this stuff..
went to castilene... love it but too slow
finally went to Hard Chavant... perfect!! :D :D has all the features of wax and BT. you can get a good finish and polish on it too.

so that was materials, next, time to do a Marvel figure. I hadnt been too happy with the Proportions i was using which was 8 heads. my stuff never quite looked 'right' next to my Bowens. i measured and measured but couldnt stack em up. A quick look at How to draw Marvel Comics later and i had done 4 new 'test figures'. I am now liking what i am seeing. They look very Marvel.
Finally!!

any hoo ,not idle out here guys. i can now get back to the Character i had chosen which was Loki and hope to churn em out like i used to!. all i need now is a small wind fall to afford a pressure pot and compressor. i had been hoping to get along with Polyclay to avoid molds and minimise costs but i cant argue with the fact i find i sorely easier not to deal with baking issues. I am thinking that Chavant bodies with wax heads will be 'my thing'.

pics soon.... ish..
