Excuse me while I break out a little Dr. Suess:

Sam in the Jam!
How happy I am!
Happy as a clam
to see Sam in the Jam!

(I just read The Cat in the Hat Comes Back to my daughter last night, so I've got rhyming on the brain  )

Something I saw on Facebook that I thought made a lot of sense and might be helpful to some of our members here... including those who may be lurking around but haven't jumped in just yet.

dam thats wisdom Jeremy! and so me.....

i need to do better. i do get to a stage where the piece has gone as far as my current knowlede will take then it just gets put aside. then by the time i have solved the missing gap- i have usually let it slide. i do keep all my sculpts or the good parts which i look at and see how far i have come.
i'll be doing some more today and will pop some pics up later today/tonight.

still working on her. did her face last week, roughed hair tonight.
the Aqua wax is my mix. its very shiny and plastic like. polishes up well with cold water. i'll have to pare down the surfaces on the body and put fresh Castilene on to make her tidy. i like where she is going though. :)

Sam, i guess at Wonderwoman, linda Carter!?

Go fellas! GO! :D

Tim, I know she's "rough", but you've got something going on there that feels very real already. She looks lost in thought or caught in a moment.

yeah, i get that feeling some days Dennis. :?

today so far i having been trying a new wax material -French wax which i had some of waaaaay back in 2002 when i liked mini figs. i though i'd try it again on a bowen sized armature.
its pretty good so far, feeling like firm sculpey. it goe on easy and sticks to itself well, warming with the heat o yer hands. responds to the torch and pen well too. its not self supporting or rock had for carving though but you can model a body on a frame real quick.

i'll see where it takes me...

later its back to lara.

Tim - interesting the mixture of the two different materials. I like the pose maybe bend the right arm just a little so it doesn't look so stiff. Face is rough but looking good.

thanks Jnr. i am re-thinking the pose. its probably too rigid overall. maybe an action pose would be better. i'll set her aside and let inspiration hit. its actually about time i finished that wax Elektra sculpt. been long enough...

Awen - the new jam topic will be posted tomorrow but I initiated the roll-over jams where you can keep on posting updates from previous jams into the new one. So get started on whatever inspiration you want and don't hesitate to post it in the new jam.

does it also mean Jnr, that we could go back to a previous topic and try again while showing updates in the new one? just curious.

Absolutely, Tim! That is the beauty of the rolling jams. When NOvember 2012 comes along you can even go back to a jam in January 2012 and start one. Of course, if you start a piece in January, you have a whole year to get it completely painted and finished and Dennis and I will automatically pick up all finished pieces to be entered for the 2012 jam competition. Yay!

BTW - LOVE those escorches in the background Tim. So jealous!

Next jam is up.
