The Highwaymen, Tim.

Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Highwa ... upergroup)

The song "Highwayman" is one of those instant classics that when you hear it playing, you can't turn it off. It's kind of a haunting ballad told in 4 parts, one by each singer:
I was a highwayman. Along the coach roads I did ride
With sword and pistol by my side
Many a young maid lost her baubles to my trade
Many a soldier shed his lifeblood on my blade
The bastards hung me in the spring of twenty-five
But I am still alive.

I was a sailor. I was born upon the tide
And with the sea I did abide.
I sailed a schooner round the Horn of Mexico
I went aloft and furled the mainsail in a blow
And when the yards broke off they said that I got killed
But I am living still.

I was a dam builder. Across the river deep and wide.
Where steel and water did collide
A place called Boulder on the wild Colorado
I slipped and fell into the wet concrete below
They buried me in that great tomb that knows no sound
But I am still around..I'll always be around..and around and around and
around and around

I fly a starship across the Universe divide
And when I reach the other side
I'll find a place to rest my spirit if I can
Perhaps I may become a highwayman again
Or I may simply be a single drop of rain
But I will remain
And I'll be back again, and again and again and again and again..

RobW - great entries. Definitely see willie and Kris there. I can see Cash there, too, although I am more familiar of his later, older face.

I am going to end this jam now but I want to thank everyone who posted, keeping the jam alive.

Stay tuned for the next whopper news.

Jedideni, thanks for explaining.
Amusedjester, Yes it is definitely a younger Johnny that I'm going for. Doesn't fit the period but that the way it is.

It's Tuesday, so here it is.
I'd had enough with hair so Waylon got a hat, and not much of a likeness. I just couldn't find a feature to build a caricature around.

Hey that profile shot of Jor-el looks good.

The waylon feature, I definitely am not familiar with but the sculpt looks great. The hat work is impressively smooth and well done.

The more I looked at my finished piece, the more i wanted to add more to his jowls because his face just seems so long. But I didn't want him to look like Godfather. In the end, I did the changes and will make a new mold and cast a new face and post up the results.

Well thank you sir. :D Magic-sculpt and some sandpaper make that hat gravy.

I'll bet some screen shots from Apocalypse Now would be great reference, bald jowly Brando without the cotton balls!
