Re: Honky Tonk Woman - Faye Valentine
Please derail all you want.. before I whine anymore. The clothes start out as separate meshes. Then they were re-meshed and merged with any body part. I then added some sculpted wrinkles. This allowed me to print them without collisions and to also cut keys into them. The stocking trim was never a s...

Re: Honky Tonk Woman - Faye Valentine
Too true. I have yet to be happy with a single piece ever.

Thanks Trevor. It's been a long trip and I am still not 100% happy.

Re: Honky Tonk Woman - Faye Valentine
Thanks Tim. I have been doing Blender for about 9 years and I think this is the first thing I have done that was not from a tutorial or pre-made. I even used to pay for tutorials from CG Cookie when I first started.

Honky Tonk Woman - Faye Valentine
Faye Valentine made her debut in the Cowboy Bebop anime series in the episode "Honky Tonk Woman". I have been trying to sculpt her since the Clubhouse Jam #132 in January of 2013. The pictures today are from my 3D print of a digital sculpt I did in Blender 3D. I modeled everything except t...

Re: Question about 3D print results
I also agree by checking out Punished Props. Look for a video on finishing Mr. Handy. Bill has a very set method of sanding, then filler primer and sanding and bondo etc. Bill also did a good video on MatterHackers site.

I knew exactly who that was before even clicking on the image and I am the world's worst at figuring out likeness. Great job.

The link is in his signature line Here is an image from his Special Forces sculpt. it was on the cover of AFM #54 https://s22.postimg.cc/58822fuwt/special_forces...

Re: Whatcha Printing?
Those clear parts are nice.
I could have just used a print like that for the "glass" part of the floor on my Oblivion model. Nice frosted look.

Re: Whatcha Printing?
Bioshock!!! My 2nd favorite game all time. (Riven being my first) I had a resin printer on my list for a while and when the cheaper ones came out I got really excited to use them for small detail parts but it is not going to happen. I made these pieces for my Bioshock fix The rabbit is from thingive...

Re: Whatcha Printing?
Cool! Plus I learned something. I always that it was "Arrive Eternal" which makes no sense. I have wanted to print an Immortan mask for some time but new it would be forever before I got around to finishing it.

Re: Whatcha Printing?
Thick primer, sand, fill, rinse and repeat. I have also used Smooth Form XTC on a few things but not entirely sold on it. Acetone does not work on PLA which is the only thing I print in. Punished Props has a great video on cleaning up PLA prints and creating a small robot model of Mr. Handy. https:/...

Re: Whatcha Printing?
Zeiram, you got good detail on the face. I can see the gum line. I tried to model and print a 1/6 scale MP5 and it is ok but nothing like a Formlabs could do. I could easily see where I should have both printers. RevvQuik, Your Hulk cleaned up nice. The first picture I thought he was all melted and ...

Re: Oblivion - 1/35 Bubbleship and skytower 49
Tim,
That was the tile I kept finding when I did my search. Of course then I got lost looking at pictures of the Bradbury and from there my mind went down the rabbit hole and I started thinking what an incredible model the staircase would make. No wonder I never finish anything.

Re: Oblivion - 1/35 Bubbleship and skytower 49
Thanks Dave! I liked the visuals in the movie much better than the plot. Plus the sounds of the machines made them feel like actors. I just know I would love a glass bottom pool and a hotrod flying machine and this model is as close as I will get.

Thank You Pete and Tim for the compliments.
Tim I am not sure which tile you are talking about and thanks for the vote of confidence but I can't take any commissions for a few months.

Glad you put the ruler in the one picture. I did not realize how tiny the mini was. I loved all the Oddworld characters and you did Abe justice.

Re: Whatcha Printing?
Looks great Beaveren!
I have been looking into getting a Form 2 but it is not going to happen anytime soon. My concern is the cost of the resin. I know in the three years I have had my Replicator I have spent about $1300 in filament. I can only imagine what I would spend with the Form printer.
