Re: Swamp Fever Again...
No answer to the 'STONE" age question? :| And BTW. Does anyone know why I call these 'Honkers'? I'll bet Trevor does. But the 1st answer wins a 'Gold Key' ! 8) https://i.postimg.cc/TKhVrNfR/150px-Goldkeycomics-e.jpg [/quote] The old Gold Key comic, Turok, Son of Stone, used to refer to dinos a...

Re: Gluing Clear Insect Wings
Testors clear parts cement is probably your best bet. Or five-minute epoxy.

Re: silly surfers
Okay, apparently you never got a reasonable answer, so I'll try. Styrene model kits are assembled using solvent cements, which chemically melt the plastic and then evaporate, leaving the plastic joint welded together. The thicker solvent cements ("tube glues") have fillers in them which, y...

Re: silly surfers
For final assembly, after parts have been painted, I usually use 5-minute epoxy, which holds well, doesn't attack paint, and dries in (yep) five minutes.

Re: resin figure kit
I have to caution against using CA with baking soda (bicarb) as a gap filler. Many years ago I customized a 1940 Ford model, using CA and baking soda for all the bodywork. Now, those areas have dark oily-looking stains, and the filler has deteriorated. Best IMHO to use a two-part epoxy putty (Millip...

I'm scrambling to finish a naked, naked, oh so naked Velma for the NRA. If I luck out and my paint dries quickly, it's going to be just barely possible. My progress so far: https://www.flickr.com/photos/150559382 ... 326088033/

When we had our bathroom remodelled, we ended up with a mysterious leak. The workman came out again, and found that the drywall guy had put a screw into one of the new pipes!

The clear acrylic mediums used by artists are non-yellowing and would be suitable for gloss-coating eyes.

Re: Attack of the 50' Woman
Let's see: 10" model size, 600" real size. 600/10 = 60, so the kit is 1/60 scale. Saw something on the Monsters in Motion newsletter that might be of interest to you! Link: https://www.monstersinmotion.com/cart/item-list-pt-c-2_203/rocketeer-and-dog-112-scale-figure-by-executive...

Re: Wooden Display Base Questions
...But I'm here to ask a couple specific questions: 1. Do you permanently attach your finished models to your finished display bases? Usually, yes. But if I feel a model is going to be a problem to transport attached to a base, I may leave it loose--but usually located with a couple stout brass rod ...
