SEAVIEW from Voyage to the bottom of the Sea.

My 26" SEAVIEW build.
This is NOT the Moebius, Lunar Models,Aurora or any other commercially available model kit.
This WAS a limited edition mixed media kit available in the 1990s of the Eight Window Boat.
However, She suffered severe damage in a shelf dive, so I elected to make it into a model of the 17'3" Seaview seen from the second to fourth season.
The original kit is NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
With all that out of the way, I air brushed the sub a series of colors(The Seaview was never, ever light ghost grey).
Sorry no rattle can colors are one size fits all. You have to mix the colors...
I also fitted it with lights and the faux interior seen on the actual Miniature.
Thanks!

Masterful customization of my favorite 60s tv sci-fi show!!! 👀🔥💥🎇👍⚡

Never liked the six window version anyway, so I'm kind of glad that the "shelf dive" forced you to get creative! 😉😁

Incredibly impressive! 💫⭐🌟✨✨⚡💥

I like it. Is the second color from the top dark olive drab? Hard to make out from here.

Found your earlier post here from 2018 Mark doing a site search for anything Seaview. Lots of great photos and two underwater videos! Sweet!

The color formulas are wrong .
Light Ghost grey is wrong.

Here are the correct formulas...

Image

Some background...
Those formulas were provided by Paul Lubliner. Lubliner is an expert on the Seaview and other Irwin Allen Miniatures. He restored the 4' Gemini 12, The 4' Seaview and the 18" Flying Sub.
He took notes and info before any of these "restorations" took place. He also restored the nose section of the 8' Seaview that was removed from the boat by Irwin Allen when he was going to use it in his Return of Captain Nemo, as the Nautilus. He never did. It was ruined for nothing as a new miniature was fabricated.

That info on the formulas has been making the rounds for years...and is wrong. You have to actually build and paint these things to understand that.

Well… I feel mildly chastised, and rightfully so. Guess I need to sharpen my dunce cap and go sit in the corner for awhile.

Sorry for stepping all over your thread Mark.

 :thud :bday:
