Quickly Put some fresh paint on the wings just see how they look. Some more detailing to do.
I am pretty happy with the left to right wing conversion.

Worked on abs, beefed up thighs with smoother transition into the tail.
Wings are just loosely fitted on.

Put a base coat of black on just to see how it looks all tied together.
Plan to taper the forearms some more, streamline back of neck, attach wings , work on back.
Plan to put spikes running down the spine from back of head down through tail.

Started working the back and roughed in some spikes. Not sure if I will keep the spikes.
I need to base coat and then see how they look.

Beautiful work. And i have to say it's time to pick up some clay and start from scratch. In my vho i think you have the chops to make something completely original.

Thanks loborex! Once I get through the 40 or so kitbashes that I have planned, I may just give that a try!

Working on detailing and blending in the spikes. Still not sure if I will keep these spikes or not?
They do add visual interest to the back, but not sure if I like the size/scale of them...

Sorry for poor pics where you cannot see all the details, but I only have a quick base coat of black on it with no color variation and no dry brush detailing yet. Thanks for looking.

Added more back spikes.
Toned down wing web paint with black wash.
Started dry brushing on wings and body.

Started adding flame effects. First time trying this ...

Well, I spent a ton of time trying to get the flame effects in the cracks of the skin, but I don’t like it.
Looks too cartoonish.
So I am going to repaint the whole body black and go for a more earthy tone style on the body.
Something along how the wing webbing paint looks now.

Ok, let’s try this again starting from a blank slate...

Sometimes that is the best thing to do.
When you are not getting the results you want, trying to compromise usually leads to regret down the road.

Going with a reddish black color scheme to match the wing web color.
Just did some initial yellow, orange, red and black washes.
Need to clean up black smudges and do lots of dry brushing.
I will post better pics with wings on after dry brushing.

Working on dry brushing and details are starting to come out nicely.
Body color is not as light and bright as it looks in these pics.
I plan to tone body colors down and darken it to make it more like the wing webbing tone.
Trick is to not too lose all the nice detail that shows with this non-black color scheme.
