Space Taxi
This kit is a 1998 reproduction of the 1959 Monogram kit
Produced by: Monogram 1998
Sculpted by: UNKNOWN
Scale/Size: 1:48
Medium: Styrene Plastic
Modeler: Ken Kwilinski "Ken Kwil"
Note: This model is a Willy Ley design. His idea of what may have been in the future. The Monogram kit came out in 1959 and was re-popped in '98. The one shown here is the '98 version. Kit is built out of box. Nothing added. Assemble of the wires to the ship and figures had to be epoxied. Glue just would not hold.
Additional Note: Willy Ley (1906 – 1969) was a German-American science writer, spaceflight advocate, and historian of science who helped to popularize rocketry, spaceflight, and natural history in both Germany and the U.S.. The crater Ley on the far side of the Moon is named in his honor.
