Flash Gordon Rocketship

#1 Post by kevtk135 »

I dug this Fantastic Plastic offering out of the stash and built it up. It goes together like a dream.

The large window is perfect for showing off the main console. It also has another panel of dials and buttons in the back, that, once closed up will never be seen again, but I painted nonetheless.

Yeah there was a few scratches in the raw resin, that I didn't see. By the time I did I was so far along that I told myself "Next time..."

I had an oops and lost one of the fins for the ship. How do I lose something that big!! (shrug) So I made a new one. Painted gloss black primer, I then hit it with Vallejo's Silver, from their new metallics line . Thanks for looking.

Cool ...Looking forward to it even if it is just a scetch. I have been running a forced perspective in my head of the Hunchback at N.D. I have to do more research.

Thanks.
I'm sure yours will look terrific. The hardest part is measuring out and fitting in the acetate as the windows.
If I can do it, anyone can. ;)

Looks great. The scratches are just weathering.

BTW, I almost expected to see Tom Paris and Harry Kim step out of the rocket.

Thanks!! Appreciate the kind words. Yeah, that’s it! Got side swiped by an asteroid.

I almost brought it to the IPMS USA Nationals (where I am now). But until I can develop a technique to get it from point A to B via plane safely, it’ll only go to “driving” shows.
